Required:
1) Valid national and international drivers license.
2) Valid major credit card.
3) Minimum age 22 years.

Car Rental includes:
1) Unlimited free mileage – with the exception in Punta Arenas
where car rental for only one day are restricted to 300 km. Every additional km has a charge of CLP 191 per km.

2) CDW insurance (full coverage), with the exception of:
- Damage to tires when there is no accident or collision

- Rentals from Punta Arenas or Coyhaique (BBA) all have a deductible of 20 UF (Unidad de Fomento) plus tax (which is approx USD 800).
Optional supplement CDW for rental from Punta Arenas costs USD 22 per day/vehicle (price subject to changes, only possible for categories C, D, L and F). No optional suppl. CDW possible from Coyhaique (BBA). CDW with deductible do not cover damages of the windscreen when there is no accident or collision; -When a 4x4 car or pick up overturns, without being involved in an accident with a third party, the deductible of UF 20 plus tax will be charged;
-When driving under the influence of alcohol;
-When the driver was not indicated in the rental contract;

3) local taxes (19% VAT)
Please request all rental details. Clients are obliged to read the rental contract at pick up, before receiving the vehicle.

Consider:
-Optional insurance can be contracted upon reception of car: PAI (Personal Accident Insurance / valid for two passengers) USD 5, - per day valid for 2 passengers and SACA (Accessory) USD 4, -per day (both rates subject to changes).
-Additional driver is free of charge, but has to be registered in rental contract.
-Rental day = 24 hrs,
-Pick-up trucks can be available with baggage covers (hard top covers are not available) to protect luggage if you request them upon booking.
-One-way rentals are only possible within Chilean territory (some exceptions can be arranged/quoted upon request).
-Border crossing to Argentina: It is possible to start at category “C” or higher at all major borders if prior arrangements are taken. Except car rentals from Coyhaique/ Balmaceda and Minibus (Cat M) in Punta Arenas; in these cases border crossing is not possible. We need complete name, nationality, passport number upon reservation, no later than 14 days prior to rental. An additional obligatory international permission has to be taken:
Multiple border crossing between Chile and Argentina 1-15 days: USD 144 per vehicle;
Multiple border crossings between Chile and Argentina 15-30 days: USD 288 per vehicle.
-Extra baby seat: USD 18 per renting period.
-Second additional wheel: USD 10,- per day, for category L, M

Further costs (to be paid directly to Hertz):
- TAG (highway toll): For car rentals in Santiago or Viña del Mar (and car rentals of other locations, but driving into these towns).
- Airport Service Charge: For car rentals starting on any Chilean airport with Hertz-counter. approx. USD 6,- per rental DAY.
- In case the client would like to drop off the car at a hotel in the City of Santiago after the rental term. The fee is valid for all hotels in Santiago. If you like, we can include the new drop off fee in your quotation. The costs is USD 11,--
Important: The fee is not charged for rental car pick up at a hotel in Santiago.
